UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Jan 14 (updated)

       Jan 14 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100  .FTSE  index is
seen opening flat on Tuesday, with futures  FFIc1  up 0.02%.

    * BP: BP  BP.L  said that lower refining margins would hurt
its fourth-quarter profit by $100 million to $300 million and
that it expects oil trading to be weak.
        * OCADO: British online supermarket Ocado Retail said
its sales growth 
    accelerated
     in its fourth quarter as more competitive pricing helped it
win more customers from rivals, underlining its position as the
country's fastest growing grocer.
  
        * JD SPORTS: British sportswear retailer JD Sports
Fashion  JD.L  downgraded its profit forecast after weaker
trading in Britain and the United States and promotional
activity in the market hurt sales, and it warned it was
"cautious" on the coming year.
        * PERSIMMON: British housebuilder Persimmon  PSN.L  
forecast its 2024 underlying pre-tax profit to be around the
upper end of market view.
        * ROBERT WALTERS: Robert Walters  RWA.L  said it no
longer expects a profit for the year, after the British
recruiter reported a 14% drop in fourth-quarter income from fees
at constant currency due to challenging conditions in global
hiring markets.
        * Games Workshop: British miniature wargames maker Games
Workshop  GAW.L  reported a 33.4% surge in half-year profit,
helped by robust demand for its popular Warhammer series.
        * YOUGOV: Activist investor Gatemore Capital called for
leadership 
    changes
     at YouGov  YOU.L  and proposed appointing former boss
Stephan Shakespeare as interim CEO of the British polling and
research company.
        * SMITHS GROUP: British engineering firm Smiths Group
 SMIN.L  upgraded its annual organic revenue growth outlook to
6%-8%, up from the previous forecast of 5%-7%, and named Julian
Fagge, the president of Smiths Interconnect, as its new CFO.
    * OIL: Oil prices eased.
