U.S. stock index futures inched lower on Wednesday as investors refrained from
big bets ahead of a key inflation reading that could provide some clarity on an
inflation outlook, complicated by a spike in oil prices, and its effect on
interest rates.  .N 
    
    At 8:42 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were down 0.12% at 34,626. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were down 0.15% at 4,458.5, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were down
0.23% at 15,269.5.
