US trade panel to probe Roku, Hisense streaming and display imports for patent violations

WASHINGTON, April 1 (Reuters) - The U.S. International Trade Commission said on Wednesday that it has opened a Section 337 patent violation investigation into certain Roku and Hisense brand display devices, streaming players and components.

The USITC said in a statement that the petitioner in the case is Las Vegas-based InnoTV Labs LLC, which alleged that its patens were violated by devices and components imported by San Jose, California-based Roku Inc ROKU.O, Purple Tag Media Technology Shanghai Ltd and Qingdao, China-based Hisense Visual Technology Co 600060.SS and related companies.

InnoTV Labs has requested that the USITC issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the imports, the panel said.
