Zymeworks rises after naming new CFO

** Shares of biotech firm Zymeworks ZYME.O rise 2.6% to $25.70 premarket

** Co says it appointed Kristin Stafford as chief financial officer, effective immediately

** Adds that Stafford joins from Royalty Pharma RPRX.O, where she was senior vice president and chief accounting officer

** She has also held finance leadership roles at BioPharma Credit and worked at Ernst & Young on capital markets deals for life sciences firms - ZYME

** ZYME CEO Kenneth Galbraith says Stafford’s experience will support disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation

** As of last close, stock down ~5% YTD
