U.S. stock index futures were marginally lower on Tuesday as caution prevailed
ahead of key inflation data later this week that could firm up bets on the size
of the interest rate cut that the Federal Reserve is expected to deliver on
Sept. 18.  .N 
    
    At 7:32 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were down 0.05% at 40,862. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were up 0.02% at 5,480.5, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were down 0.09%
at 18,674.5.
