May 6 (Reuters) - The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq hit record highs on Wednesday, extending their strong run powered by sustained enthusiasm around artificial intelligence and the prospect of a U.S.-Iran peace agreement.  .N

At  1130 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 1.18% at 49,879.46. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 1.17% at 7,344.19, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 1.48% at 25,700.57.
