Rocket Lab rises on NASA selection to launch TROPICS mission

** Shares of space company Rocket Lab USA Inc  RKLB.O  up
~6% at $4.65 in extended trading
    ** RKLB says it is selected by NASA to launch the
Time-Resolved Observations of Precipitation Structure and Storm
Intensity with a Constellation of Smallsats (TROPICS) mission,
as part of NASA's Venture-class Acquisition of Dedicated and
Rideshare (VADR) launch services contract
    ** Co adds it will launch TROPICS mission, part of NASA's
Earth System Science Pathfinder Program, into their operational
orbit within a 60-day period
    ** RKLB says launches to take place on Electron rockets and
are scheduled to take place no earlier than May 1, 2023
    ** "TROPICS will provide rapidly updating observations of
storm intensity as well as the horizontal and vertical
structures of temperature and humidity within the storms and in
their surrounding environment" - co
    ** Up to Wednesday's close, stock had fallen 64.1% this year
