Ryman Hospitality strikes $1.38 billion deal for Grande Lakes Orlando
Ryman Hospitality strikes $1.38 billion deal for Grande Lakes Orlando Aug 10 (Reuters) - Ryman Hospitality Properties RHP.N on Monday agreed to acquire the Grande Lakes Orlando Resort in Florida for $1.38 billion from Trinity Investments, in a deal that broadens the lodging REIT's presence in the high-end leisure and group travel market.
Shares of the company were down 4% before the bell.
The deal underscores continued investor interest in large destination resorts, which benefit from demand from both vacationers and corporate groups in the U.S. travel market.
Grande Lakes was acquired in 2018 by a joint venture between funds managed by Trinity Investments and Elliott Management, which subsequently undertook a major renovation and repositioning of the Orlando resort complex.
The 409-acre resort includes a 1,010-room JW Marriott hotel, a 582-room Ritz-Carlton hotel and an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman.
Marriott International will continue to manage the property under the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton brands.
Ryman expects to close the Grande Lakes transaction in the third quarter of 2026.
Earlier this month, Ryman reported second-quarter revenue of $748.98 million, above Wall Street estimates of $735.5 million, according to data compiled by LSEG.
