    ECONOMY
    Italy is planning to relaunch the ex-Ilva steel plant, its
industry minister said on Thursday, after ArcelorMittal  MT.LU ,
which owns a controlling stake, rejected a government plan to
keep it afloat.
    
    OECD releases December composite leading indicator data
(1100 GMT).
    
    COMPANIES
    SAFILO  SFLG.MI  
    The Italian glasses maker and German fashion house Hugo Boss
 BOSSn.DE  have agreed the early renewal of a licensing deal
until the end of 2030, Safilo said on Thursday.

    AVIO  AVI.MI  
    The aerospace group said on Thursday it has appointed
Rosario Esposito as its new Chief Operating Officer effective
from January.
    
    SERVIZI ITALIA  SERIT.MI 
    Cometa extended to Jan. 19 the subscription period of its
full voluntary takeover bid for the healthcare provider's
ordinary shares, increasing the offer price by 16% to 1.92 euros
 ($2.10) per share.
    
    DIARY
    Milan, bank trade union FABI ends 128th national meeting
"Nothing about us, without us, is for us: 2023 contract" (0900
GMT).
    Milan, Men's fashion shows "Milan Fashion Week Men's
Collection" start; end on Jan. 16.
