POLITICS
Italy has continued to export arms to Israel, the Italian
defence minister said on Thursday, despite assurances last year
that the government was blocking such sales following Israel's
invasion of the Gaza Strip.
Industry ministers from the Group of Seven major democracies
agreed on Thursday to align rules on the development of
artificial intelligence and other new technologies, the Italian
presidency said.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases February CPI final data (0900 GMT); January
retail sales data (1000 GMT); January foreign trade data (1100
GMT).
Italy will soon see more foreign investment in its
semiconductor sector, Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said on
Thursday, following a deal announced this week involving
Singapore-based Silicon Box.
Intel INTC.O has shelved plans to invest in Italy, Urso
also said, after a project to build an advanced packaging and
chip assembly factory first mooted in March 2022 was never
finalised.

TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
KKR KKR.N is pressing ahead with preparatory activities
for the buyout of the Italian phone group's fixed line network
and working with other parties towards the summer 2024 timeframe
for finalising the deal, a spokesperson for the U.S. fund said
on Thursday.
The business plan for the new company emerging from the sale
of the former phone monopoly's fixed line network is
sustainable, Italy's Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said on
Thursday.

The Italian energy group said on Thursday it would embrace
transition by creating separate units specialising in carbon
capture and bio chemicals, adding to already existing renewable
energy and biofuel subsidiaries.
BRUNELLO CUCINELLI BCU.MI
The Italian luxury group said on Thursday its operating
profit rose 39.4% last year and it confirmed its expectations
for sales growth of around 10% in 2024.
IVECO GROUP IVG.MI
The Italian bus and truck maker plans to focus on new and
deeper partnerships for future growth, the bus and truck maker
said on Thursday, as it unveiled a new five-year business plan
targeting a 20% bump in revenue by 2028.
SARAS SRS.MI
Global commodity trader Vitol held a 10.4% stake in the oil
refiner, Italy's watchdog CONSOB said in a filing on Thursday.
SAFILO SFLG.MI
The Italian eyewear group said on Thursday its full-year
adjusted net result dropped by 76% on a yearly basis due to the
accounting effect of the valuations of options of
non-controlling interests, as well as higher financial charges
tied to rising interest rates.
TOD'S TOD.MI
LVMH-backed investment firm L Catterton said on Thursday
that Italy's watchdog CONSOB would reopen on Friday the review
of its offer for the Italian luxury group. The time limit for
the review expires on March 25.
