The Times

- Energy group SSE SSE.L is to tap investors for 2 billion pounds ($2.68 billion) and sell 2 billion pounds of assets to help fund a "once-in-a-generation" expansion of its electricity networks through a 33 billion-pound investment plan.

- The bosses of some of Britain's biggest companies like NatWest NWG.L, Taylor Wimpey TW.L, Octopus Energy and Sage SGE.L met with the prime minister on Wednesday as Downing Street prepares the ground before what is expected to be a painful tax-raising budget.
