much as 17.44% to a record high of 1,322 rupees
    ** Stock records biggest intraday pct gain since Aug 5 
    ** Nearly 330,100 shares traded by 0802 GMT, 4.6 times the
30-day avg of 63,546 
    ** As of last close, SAKS shares up 16.15% YTD
