** Shares in Salvatore Ferragamo SFER.MI fall around 7% after the Italian luxury group reported on Wednesday a 1% revenue drop in Q1
** The negative sales trend continued in April, executive board member Ernesto Greco told analysts in a post-results call
** "Ferragamo is the first luxury company in this reporting season to explicitly comment on current trading for Q2, and to point to deteriorating trends sequentially," J.P.Morgan says in a note
** The broker expects these comments to weigh on the broader luxury sector
** Shares in French luxury heavyweights LVMH LVMH.PA and Kering LVMH.PA are down between 2.5% and 3.5%
** Up to Wednesday's close, Salvatore Ferragamo's stock was down 11% YTD
