Ferragamo surges after launching first buyback since 2022
BUZZ-Ferragamo surges after launching first buyback since 2022 ** Shares in Ferragamo SFER.MI rise as much as 9% to their highest in almost two years after the Italian fashion house launched a 53 million euro share buyback, its first since 2022
** The programme, for up to 5% of share capital, will run until October 2027 and aims to support liquidity, reduce volatility and fund incentive plans
** "The news represents a sign of confidence" Equita says, noting that Ferragamo last carried out a buyback in 2022 and has not paid dividends over the last two fiscal years
** The broker adds, however, that valuations are high at about 28 times expected earnings, amid ongoing uncertainty over growth, with margins and cash generation seen below industry standards for several years
** With today's rise Ferragamo is up 12% YTD - LSEG data
