** Shares of Santos STO.AX rise as much as 3.5% to A$8.39, hitting their highest level since June 10, 2022
** Stock set for strongest intraday session since August 11
** Energy producer reports smaller-than-expected drop in H1 underlying profit to $397 million
** Declares an interim dividend of 11.6 cents per share
** Expects production in H2 to be about 20% to 30% higher than in H1
** Co reiterates overall annual production forecast in range of 99 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) to 105 million boe
** Stock up 35.7% YTD, including the session's moves
