Australian energy stocks rise as oil prices gain

** Shares of Australian energy firms .AXEJ rise as much as 1.7%, posting their biggest intraday pct gain since July 24
** Oil prices settled more than $3 a barrel higher overnight on news an Iranian parliament committee is reviewing a bill that would ban U.S. and Israeli vessels from the Strait of Hormuz O/R
** Among sector giants, Woodside Energy WDS.AX rises 1%, while Santos STO.AX gains 0.5% 
** AXEJ up over 20% this year, including the day's move
