** Oil prices dropped after Qatar said Iran and the U.S. have made "positive progress" in indirect talks that concluded on Wednesday O/R
** Sector majors Santos STO.AX and Woodside Energy WDS.AX down 1.3% and 1.4%, respectively
** Sub-index up 11.6%, YTD
