MILAN, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Oil refiner Saras SRS.MI is
holding a board meeting on Sunday to discuss an offer by global
commodity trader Vitol, two sources with knowledge of the matter
said.
One of the sources said an announcement could come as early
as Sunday evening.
Contacted by Reuters, a representative for Saras declined to
comment.
On Friday, the Moratti family, which controls Saras with a
total stake of 40%, said it was in talks with Vitol but warned
that details in media reports over a potential acquisition
proposal by Vitol were wrong.
Saras operates the 300,000-barrel-per-day Sarroch refinery
in Sardinia, one of the biggest plants in the Mediterranean.
