** Shares of Savannah Goldfields SVG.AX rise as much as 28.6% to A$0.027, their highest level since May 9

** Biggest pct gain since April 22

** Gold miner says production at its Georgetown project in Queensland, currently under maintenance, is to be resumed before the end of October

** Adds, all approvals are in place to start mining at Big Reef gold project and resume gold production at the project's processing plant in October

** About 22.9 mln shares change hands, 2.3 times the 30-day avg

** Stock is up 40.3% YTD, including the session's moves
