** Scott Technology Ltd  SCT.NZ  rises as much as 5.1% to
NZ$1.84, hitting its highest since Sept. 24
    ** Automation systems designer says it has been awarded a
multi-million dollar contract by New Zealand-based Alliance

Alliance's Lorneville plant in Invercargill 
    ** Stock posts its biggest intraday percentage gain in more

    ** Stock had fallen 20.1% this year, as of last close
