SemiLEDs share price, trading volume soar

** Shares in SemiLEDs Corp  LEDS.O , a manufacturer of
ultra-high brightness light emitting diode (LED) chips, were up
75.8% at $9.67 on Thursday with trading volume far outstripping
previous sessions 
    ** Volume was last at ~151 million shares compared with
previous record of 16 mln reached on May 4, when the stock rose
~58%
    ** LEDS shares, which rose as high as $13.44 on Thursday,
had closed at $3.76 on May 3
    ** LEDS is not a heavily shorted stock, according to the
latest data from Astec Analytics which shows 2% of shares
outstanding out on loan as of May 5
