Serco Group plc (Serco), the international service company, is pleased to announce that, on the Audit Committee's recommendation, the Board has approved the appointment of KPMG LLP as External Auditor. In line with best practice and as set out in the Chairman's letter accompanying the Notice of AGM dated 22 March 2016, the role of External Auditor was put out to formal competitive tender. KPMG LLP will carry out the audit of the accounts of the Serco group for the 2016 financial year. The reappointment of KPMG for the 2017 financial year will be subject to shareholder approval at the AGM in 2017.
The External Auditor role was held previously by Deloitte LLP for in excess of 20 years. Deloitte LLP have resigned with effect from 27 May 2016 and the Board would like to thank them for their longstanding service.
