India's Shanthi Gears rises on quarterly profit jump

** Shares of Shanthi Gears  SHNT.NS  up as much as 8.21% to
448.8 rupees, their highest intraday pct gain since Sept 11
    ** The industrial gears maker said its profit after tax for
the July-Sept quarter rose 26.6% to 210.2 mln rupees ($2.53 mln)
    ** Rev from ops rose 24.5% to 1.35 billion rupees 
        
     ($1 = 83.1559 Indian rupees)
