Shefa Gems Ltd.
("Shefa Gems" or the "Company")
Death of Director
It is with deep regret that Shefa Gems (LSE: SEFA) announces that Avi Taub, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, has passed away following a short illness.
Michael Rosenberg, OBE, Chairman of Shefa Gems, said: "It is with great sadness that we learned about the death of Avi, who contributed so much to what Shefa is and what it will be. Due to the unique origins of the Company, he always saw himself as a custodian and built a business to last. His guidance, intelligence and humour will be sorely missed by all in the Company. The team he put together is determined to carry on and fulfil his vision of building a successful "Mine-to-Market" precious gemstones company. On behalf of the Board we extend our deepest condolences to Avi's family."
During the period of Avi's illness, the Company's processes were run by the Chairman, Michael Rosenberg and Vered Toledo, Chief Operating Officer with the support of the administrative team including Yossi Taub, the son of Avi, and they will continue to do so in the interim period. A further announcement will be made in due course.
