Opendoor soars after new CEO appointment, founders rejoin board

** Shares of residential real estate platform Opendoor Technologies OPEN.O rise 11.1% to $6.51 after the bell

** OPEN names Kaz Nejatian, chief operating officer of Shopify SHOP.TO, as new CEO

** Co-founders Keith Rabois and Eric Wu will return to OPEN's board; Rabois will also become the chairman

** OPEN has also entered into securities purchase agreements with Khosla Ventures and Wu to invest $40 million of capital through a private investment

** Carrie Wheeler, OPEN's former CEO and board chair, stepped down from her roles in August

** OPEN has jumped over 260% YTD, as of last close
