Shopify shares pulled down by higher operating expenses

** U.S.-listed shares of e-commerce platform Shopify SHOP.O fall 1.7% to $170

** SHOP reports a 25.5% jump in operating expenses to $1.05 bln in Q3

        ** Shopify's Q3 net income drops to $264 mln from $828 mln a year ago

        ** Co reports Q3 total revenue of $2.84 bln, compared with estimates of $2.76 bln

** SHOP expects revenue to rise in the mid-to-high-twenties percentage range in Q4

** Up to last close, stock has risen ~63% this year
