FRANKFURT, Dec 9 (Reuters) - Siemens Energy ENR1n.DE should spin off its struggling wind business Siemens Gamesa, U.S. investor Ananym Capital said on Tuesday, adding this could boost returns for the German group's shareholders by as much as 60%.
"We believe in wind long term," Ananym Capital co-founder Charlie Penner told Reuters, adding the investment firm had taken a meaningful stake in the company.
"We're thinking that Siemens Gamesa can be worth $10 billion in a few years. But having it sit around and basically drag on value doesn't make any sense in our view."
