** Drugmaker SIGA Technologies' shares  SIGA.O  rise 1.5% to
$14.10 premarket
    ** Co says United Kingdom has approved its oral drug
tecovirimat for treatment of smallpox, monkeypox, cowpox, and
complications from immunization with smallpox vaccine

    ** The oral drug is approved in U.S. and Canada under the
brand name Tpoxx for treatment of smallpox
    ** In early 2022, the drug received European approval for
treatment of smallpox as well as monkeypox, cowpox and

    ** Stock was up ~97% YTD as of last close
