Siga Technologies up on contract with U.S. govt for smallpox drug

** Siga Technologies Inc's shares  SIGA.O  rise 2.8% to
$10.9 in early morning trade
    ** Co is awarded a new contract from U.S. government for
procurement of up to $10.7 mln oral drug to treat smallpox,
TPOXX  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nGNX7KZY48
    ** Under the terms of contract, co needs to deliver $5.1 mln
of TPOXX in 2022 and remainder is subject to sole discretion of
the govt
    ** Earlier in the year, SIGA was awarded contract for
procurement of $7.4 million of oral TPOXX
    ** Up to Wednesday's close, stock had risen ~50% YTD
