** Silex Systems SLX.AX slips as much as 16.7% to A$3.860; set for weakest session since April 22

** Stock hits lowest since July 9

** Silex gets commitments for institutional placement to raise gross proceeds of A$130 mln ($84.5 mln)

** Offer price of A$3.90, a 15.8% discount to last close

** Proceeds to be used to support commercialisation of co's uranium enrichment technology in U.S.

** Around 1.9 mln shares traded vs 30-day avg of ~764,200

** SLX last down 13%, takes YTD losses to 20.2%
