MOSCOW, July 11 (Reuters) - Russia has seized companies
belonging to Silgan Holdings Austria GmbH and Silgan Metal
Packaging Mitterdorf GmbH and placed them under temporary
management, a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin showed
on Thursday.
The move follows similar asset seizures involving Western
firms including Carlsberg CARLb.CO , Fortum FORTUM.HE and
Uniper UN01.DE in retaliation for steps taken against Russian
companies abroad.
Thursday's decree listed two Russian companies, in which
Silgan Holdings Inc SLGN.N has a shareholding, as being placed
under temporary management of Rosimushchestvo, Russia's federal
property management agency.
Silgan did not immediately respond to requests for
comment.
