    Oct 4 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions
and disposals were reported by 1330 GMT on Monday:
    
    ** British pay-TV company Sky is in talks about investing in
Virgin Media O2's plan to extend its network to 80% of the
country, including the possibility of spinning out the cable
company's entire network into a joint venture, a source said.

    ** Swedish automotive technology group Veoneer  VNE.N  said
chipmaker Qualcomm Inc  QCOM.O  and SSW Partners, a New
York-based investment partnership, had reached a definite
