Sino Biopharmaceutical, GSK expand alliance with China rights to respiratory drugs
Sino Biopharmaceutical, GSK expand alliance with China rights to respiratory drugs July 8 (Reuters) - Hong Kong-listed drugmaker Sino Biopharmaceutical 1177.HK said on Wednesday its China unit had secured rights to market two respiratory drugs from British company GSK GSK.L in mainland China.
Here are some details:
Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical (CTTQ) will commercialise GSK's triple therapy inhaler Trelegy Ellipta and dual therapy inhaler Anoro Ellipta in mainland China.
Anoro Ellipta is used for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), while Trelegy Ellipta is approved for the maintenance treatment of both COPD and asthma.
The unit will be responsible for importing, distributing and promoting the products in mainland China, with sales revenue expected to be recognised by CTTQ.
The deal broadens the companies' collaboration beyond liver disease and into respiratory treatments, following an agreement announced in May to support the launch of GSK's hepatitis B drug candidate in mainland China.
