The stock of Six Flags has gone on a roller‑coaster ride this week, climbing more than 20% as the company faces pressure from shareholders. Activist investor Jana Partners has teamed up with football star Travis Kelce to push the company to improve its marketing and customer experiences after disclosing a 9 % stake. Kelce is a star tight end for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and a popular podcast host who recently became engaged to singer Taylor Swift. He has described himself as a theme‑park superfan and has often visited Six Flags parks. The company’s stock price has been cut in half since it completed a merger with fellow theme park operator Cedar Fair in July 2024. It has struggled this year as rainy weather at the start of the summer kept visitors away from its parks. Jana says it believes there is a substantial opportunity to drive improved park attendance and brand engagement through a re‑energizing of its marketing and branding. Six Flags stock rose as much as 4% Wednesday morning after finishing nearly 18% higher Tuesday.
