South Korea asks exporters to help ease FX volatility SEOUL, June 11 (Reuters) - South Korea's vice finance minister asked on Thursday exporting companies to help improve demand and supply conditions in the foreign exchange market to ease volatility, the ministry said.
In a meeting with major company representatives, Vice Minister Huh Chang discussed immediate conversions of export earnings into the won currency and measures to induce more inflows of their funds held abroad, according to the ministry.
Representatives from chipmakers Samsung Electronics 005930.KS and SK Hynix 000660.KS, as well as automakers and shipbuilders, attended the meeting.
