SM Energy to sell some Texas assets to Caturus for $950 mln; shares up

** Shares of oil and gas firm SM Energy SM.N rise 1.2% to $21.92 premarket

** Co says it will sell select assets in South Texas to Caturus Energy for $950 million in cash

** SM agrees to sell nearly 61,000 net acres and about 260 producing wells in its southern Maverick Basin position in Webb County, Texas, along with related support facilities

** Deal expected to close in the second quarter with an effective date of February 1, 2026

** In 2025, SM stock fell 51.75%
