Electrica Initiates 15 BESS Projects with 1GWh Capacity

This week, the process to obtain the permits required for the construction of
15 battery energy storage parks, with a total capacity of approximately 1 GWh,
has been initiated.

In doing so, Electrica will leverage land assets from its portfolio and take
important steps toward implementing its 2030 Strategy.

"Developing this 1 GWh storage infrastructure is a strategic pillar in
Electrica's transformation into a leader of the energy transition. By
diversifying across 15 locations, we ensure not only operational resilience,
but also the ability to respond dynamically to fluctuations in consumption and
production within the national energy system.

This investment demonstrates our capacity to execute complex critical
infrastructure projects, positioning Electrica as a trusted partner for
Romania's sustainable development.

The storage parks will enable the efficient integration of growing renewable
capacities, significantly reducing price volatility and dependence on imports.

large-scale projects. This project is not just about technology or capacity;
it is about redefining how Romania manages energy security for the decades
