** Shares of Nvidia NVDA.O up 3.9% at $183.52 on Mon and hit new record high after chipmaker says it plans to invest up to $100 bln in OpenAI

** NVDA shares rise as much 4.5% to $184.55, surpassing prior all-time intraday peak of $184.48 hit on Aug 12

** Both firms unveiled a letter of intent for a landmark strategic partnership to deploy at least 10 gigawatts of Nvidia chips for OpenAI's AI infrastructure

** In an interview with CNBC, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the investment is "“additive to everything that’s been announced and contracted"

** Shares of Oracle ORCL.N, a partner with OpenAI, SoftBank 9434.T, and Microsoft MSFT.O on $500 bln Stargate AI data center project, up nearly >5% on Mon

** Nvidia last week committed $5 bln to embattled chipmaker Intel INTC.O

** With move on the session, NVDA shares up ~36% YTD
