** Analysts could not point to a company specific reason for the fall, but note Soitec's stock volatility

** The stock is on track for its biggest daily loss since May, if losses holds; it rose 26% since September 12

** Peers in the European chip sector decline amid broader sell-off in stocks as U.S.-China trade tensions hit sentiment

** ASM International ASMI.AS and BESI BESI.AS slide 2-3%, both at the of Amsterdam's AEX index .AEX; Europe's broader technology index .SX8P falls 1% at 1203 GMT
