Soitec revenue down 29% year-on-year as auto, mobile weakness offsets AI demand (updated)

Feb 3 - French semiconductor materials supplier Soitec SOIT.PA on Tuesday reported third-quarter revenue of 160 million euros ($189 million), down 29% year on year, as continued weakness in automotive markets offset strong AI-related demand.

The company's edge & cloud AI business brought in 54 million euros ($64 million) in the third quarter, up 27% from a year earlier, while mobile revenue fell 36% to 90 million euros and automotive & industrial sales dropped 32% to 16 million euros.

It expects revenue to grow around 20% in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter, anticipating improvements in mobile and a seasonal benefit from a specific automotive contract.
