** French wafer maker Soitec SOIT.PA rises 11.4% at 08:52 GMT to the top of France's SBF120 .SBF120 index after Q3 results showed little surprise, with revenue beating expectations for the quarter, despite a weaker outlook for following quarter
** If gains hold, it will be its largest single day gain since December 2024
** Soitec reported third-quarter 2026 revenue at 160 million euros ($189.23 million) against Vara Research estimates of 149 million euros
** Soitec guides Q4 2026 for revenue growth of around 20% at constant exchange rates against this quarter's, Bernstein analyst Aleksander Peterc notes that's 5.9% below estimates
** "After a seemingly endless stream of consistent disappointments on every print in more than a year, Soitec's 3Q sales release was uncharacteristically "boring", which is good news for long-suffering Soitec shareholders.", Peterc said in a note titled "No news is good news!"
** Jefferies analysts said Soitec's results came ahead of their forecasts in the third quarter, but guidance for the quarter ahead was below
** "With mobile phone demand likely to come under pressure due to higher memory prices and auto chip demand staying weak, we do not currently expect material sales or gross margin recovery in 2027 either", they said in a note
