** Solvar SVR.AX rises as much as 4.8% to A$1.845, highest since February 10

** Consumer and commercial finance co posts H1 net profit attributable of A$17.8 mln ($12.6 mln) vs year-ago 16.9 mln

** Declares special dividend of 2.5 AU cents/share

** About 130,000 shares traded, 1.2x the 30-day avg

** SVR gains 4.6% YTD
