** Miner says its half-year loss after income tax widened to A$44.3 mln ($28.04 mln) from a loss of A$26.2 mln last year

** Stock falls as much as 2.8% earlier in the day, marking its worst intraday drop since Feb. 26

** Stock up 0.2% YTD
