Republican Senator Cruz calls Spirit Airlines bailout 'terrible idea'

April 22 (Reuters) - The Republican chair of the Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday called a potential U.S. government rescue of bankrupt Spirit Airlines a "terrible idea."

"This is an absolutely terrible idea," Senator Ted Cruz said on social media adding "the government doesn’t know a damn thing about running a failed budget airline."
