** Shares of SPML Infra Ltd SPML.NS rise as much as 7.7% to 199.4 rupees

** Infra co, in consortium, with JWIL Infra secures 2.58 bln-rupee ($30.2 mln) water infrastructure project from Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board

** More than 512,000 shares traded as of 2:54 p.m. IST, 2.5x their 30-day moving avg

** SPML last up 2.1%, trimming YTD losses to 27.2%
