Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Friday the
death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was
"disturbing", adding that it served as a warning to the rest of
the world.
Italy is ready to offer more military aid to Ukraine, and
expects the country to join the European Union and NATO once the
war with Russia ends, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said at
the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

    ECONOMY
After growing by 0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2023, Italy's
GDP in the first quarter is supported by rising confidence
indicators and falling inflation, with industry seemingly close
to a recovery, Confindustria business lobby said on Saturday.
In a flash economic outlook statement, Confindustria added
that the economy is however dragged down by trade disruptions in
the Suez Canal, and warned that interest rates will remain high
for longer than expected.

Egypt is continuing to pay energy groups despite the
difficult situation it is going through because of the conflict
in Gaza, Eni Chief Executive Claudio Descalzi said on Friday.
Eni is ready to welcome new investors "with open arms" if
the Italian Treasury proceeds with plans to sell a 4% stake
after the group's share buyback is completed, Descalzi said in
an interview with La Stampa newspaper published on Saturday.

    TOD'S TOD.MI
The delisting of the group via L Catterton, a private equity
firm backed by LVMH LVMH.PA , will not lead to a sale to the
French luxury conglomerate, Tod's founder and CEO Diego Della
Valle has said.
"I'm used to this kind of speculation . . . but it makes no
sense as we could have sold the group directly to LVMH if that's
what we wanted," Della Valle was quoted as saying by the
Financial Times on the weekend.
Tod's said on Friday L Catterton owned an overall amount of
1.57 million shares of the Italian luxury shoemaker,
representing 4.76% of share capital.

    ANIMA HOLDING ANIM.MI

a share buyback would remain a way for Anima to reward investors
alongside dividends, adding the asset manager would also "look
with determination" at acquisition opportunities if any emerged.

    JUVENTUS JUVE.MI
The Italian soccer club said on Friday its net loss widened
to 95.1 million euros in the first half of its 2023-24 fiscal
year as its ban from lucrative European competition this season
over financial irregularities weighed on revenue.

Verona. The Turin giants have now picked up only two points in
