POLITICS
(*) Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Monday the European Union should consider extraordinary measures to curb energy prices, warning they must be capped quickly to prevent the Middle East crisis from fuelling broader inflation.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases January producer prices data (0900 GMT).
Bank of Italy releases January data on Italian residents deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.
A surge in energy prices since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran piles further pressure on the retail sector in Europe, already struggling with weak consumer demand and diminished spending power.

Italy Treasury said on Monday it would sell up to 6 billion euros in bonds at March 12 auction.
COMPANIES

CEO Luigi Lovaglio has cancelled investor meetings he was due to hold to discuss the strategy for the combined MPS-Mediobanca banking group that he unveiled at the end of February, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.
(*) MPS will hold a board meeting on Tuesday to approve 2025 full‑year results and the share‑swap ratio with Mediobanca. Mediobanca has also called a board meeting to examine the terms of the swap.
(*) THE ITALIAN SEA GROUP TISGR.MI
The CEO of the Italian yacht maker, Giovanni Costantino, filed a complaint against several former senior executives, alleging they carried out a series of coordinated actions aimed at concealing the actual management of company orders, the company said on Monday.
The Italian Sea Group also said on Monday its ordinary shares had been excluded from STAR status on the Italian stock exchange, as requested by the company itself, effective from March 17.
