VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL - AMENDED
 
SSE plc ("the Company") would like to notify the market of an amendment to the
Voting Rights and Capital announcement made on 1 October 2018 at 4.44pm under
RNS No 5944C, whereby the number of shares held in treasury was understated,
and total number of voting rights in the Company was overstated, both by
6,231.
 
In accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and
Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the below now reflects the correct positon as at 1
October 2018:
 
The issued share capital of the Company was 1,034,325,788 ordinary shares.
This figure includes 7,797,164 ordinary shares which are held in treasury. The
voting rights on treasury shares are automatically suspended.
 
Therefore, the total number of voting rights in the Company was 1,026,528,624
as at 1 October 2018 and this figure may be used by shareholders as the
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the
Company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
