Jan 14 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futuresFFIc1 up 0.15%.

* BP: BP BP.L
expects
 to book $4 billion to $5 billion in impairments in the fourth quarter.

* HAYS: Hays HAYS.L
posted
 a slightly bigger-than-expected drop in second-quarter net fees, driven by weak hiring activity in Germany.

* VISTRY: Vistry VTYV.L
flagged
 a dip in forward sales position at the start of 2026, after reporting fewer annual home completions.

*  PEARSON: Pearson PSON.L reported a jump in sales growth in the final quarter of the year, and said it expected its 2025 operating profit to rise by about 6%.

* MULBERRY: Mulberry MUL.L reported a rise in third-quarter revenue, driven by strong sales across its markets during the festive season.

* SSE: RWE RWEG.DE and SSE SSE.L were among the project developers to
win
 guaranteed electricity price contracts in Britain's latest offshore wind power auction, the government said.

* PRUDENTIAL: Prudential PRU.L named Douglas Flint as its new chair.

* RIO TINTO: Rio Tinto RIO.AX, RIO.L has engaged JPMorgan JPM.N and two other advisers on its potential acquisition of Glencore GLEN.L, a source with knowledge of the situation told Reuters.

* ASTRAZENECA: AstraZeneca AZN.L has agreed to buy Boston-based Modella AI.

* WORKSPACE: Saba Capital, which holds about 13.5% stake in Workspace WKP.L, sent a letter urging the company to pursue a managed wind-down.

* RAILWAY: Britain committed to a new rail infrastructure programme worth up to 45 billion pounds for the north of England.

* COMMODITIES: Oil slipped, copper prices rose to a new high, and gold climbed.
