** Shares of Australia's SSH Group SSH.AX rise as much as 17.2% to A$0.17, their highest level since September 10

** Stock marks biggest intraday pct gain since September 22

** Diversified service provider receives commitment from Hong Kong Xinhai

** Mining Services Ltd and its unit to place 16.9 mln shares for total A$2.5 mln ($1.62 mln)

** Placement at A$0.15 per share, a 3.4% premium to last close on Friday

** About 444,780 shares change hands, 4.2x the 30-day average

** Stock last up ~10% with YTD gains of 90.5%
